I am in Korea and bought a computer with Korean XP. It's
functional as is, but not really practical. I would like
to know, if there is any way to switch the language of the
OS, short of buying a full version and reinstalling?

Hi Mike,

No, there isn't. The best you can do otherwise is to install language
support for your preferred language, but this will not change the base
operating system language.
