LAN using wireless router between XP and 98?

Hi,

I have 3 machines; 2 laptops running XP Pro and a desktop running Win 98.
The laptops have built in wireless and the desktop has a network card.
My broadband connection is shared with the laptops using a wireless router.
The desktop also uses the broadband connection using a cable from the router.
No issues here.

I need to set up a peer to peer network between the 3 machines so I can
share files and other peripherals.

What are the steps needed to do this? Is any additional hardware required?
Can anyone list the steps in order that I need to do to enable this?

Thanks.

If all 3 computers have Internet connectivity thru the same NAT router, then you
already have a LAN. You just have to setup the pieces of the LAN.

You'll find all the information that you need about basically setting up file
sharing, in one of these resources.

There is one detail which the above websites won't mention. Network
Neighborhood (ie, the ability of each computer to "see" the others) is provided
by the browser (this is NOT the program that you surf the web from). The
browsers in Windows 9x (95, 98, ME) don't work well with the browsers for
Windows NT (NT, 2000, XP).

Both the laptops are on a corporate domain. Will this be a roadblock for the
file sharing?

This won't be a roadblock, but it will make this a challenge. Are you saying
that both laptops are normally on the same corporate domain, and they're being
carried, temporarily, to your home network? If that's true, this article might
be of interest:

You'll have 2 challenges:
# Browsing (seeing each computer from the other). Read my article I referenced
previously. I think you will need to give the desktop a workgroup name equal to
the domain that the laptops are in. Then make sure that the desktop is running
as browsemaster, and disable the browser on the laptops (should already be
disabled).
# File sharing (accessing files from each other).
