Bye to all!

I am a new user of this newsgroup and it will be nice if someone helps me. I
am an amateur and I don`t know how to link two comps. I tried it many times:
I used an UTP to connect the comps; so after starting both comps a lan
netork was connected but I couldn`t play any games at all. Please help me!

You can find out all you need to know about comps
in Las Vegas. We discuss computers here.

You need either a hub or a crossover cable. The 'normal' cables are for use
with the hub.

What opertaing system are you using? Once you get your crossover cables or
hub there are slightly different ways of doing it depending on OS. Shaun

As long as your cable is a crossover you dont need a hub or switch. In XP
Home you go to 'Start', 'Control Panel', 'Network & Connections', 'Set up or
change your home or small office network'. Follow the prompts and then put
a blank floppy in and XP will copy the necessary files for your other PC.
Bang the floppy into the other PC and run the file on the floppy (probably
called 'netsetup' or similar - memory is failing) reboot both and hopefully
it will all be sorted. If you want more than two PC's linked then you need
to consider a hub. Setting them all up however is just the same - just run
the floppy in the other PC's. Best thing about XP is how easy it makes
networking IMO. HTH, Shaun

The correct way to connect two computers thru their lan cards is to use a
special "CROSSOVER" Cat. 5 cable.
