LAN Clients cannot access Interent but RRAS host can

First, thanks for help in advance!

I installed RRAS on a Windows 2003 Server and thought I had it configured
right, but none of my internal LAN clients can access the internet. The
server itself can.

Internal network is a class C 192.168.2.x and the interent NIC is
configrured with an IP address from the ISP.

Now, the clients can ping the the IP address to the internet NIC but that is
about it. They cannot access the internet other than that.

I have RRAS configured ONLY for NAT, designating the internal NIC for the
Private network and the internet NIC for the public network.

I can supply more if need be. Just ask!

Thanks!

If you can ping a public IP but not web site, I would check the DNS settings first. Or use nslookup to troubleshoot.

Robert,

Thanks. I tried that as well and tono avail. I suspect that some network
setting got really corrupted and that's that. I reinstalled ISA on the
sucker and got some error message about my routes being all messed up. I
cleared them and they kept popping back. I have a pretty complex setup in
that this box also has VMWare installed so I suspect that the combination of
VMWare and routing got the routing all messed up and it is cached in some
indescribable place.

ANYHOW, to make a long story short, I hooked up a LinkSYS router to the
cable modem and presto! All devices on my network can get to the internet!
Ahhh! Cheap fix and it offloaded the service to a dedicated appliance.

Thanks!
