Hi there :-)

I hope theres someone who can help me with this.
My problem is, that I cannot use the windows internal WLAN utility
without having lags while playing online games. Theres always a
perdiodically "problem with your connection", think about once a minute.
If I deactivate the service for wireless configuration the lag is away,
but this way the connection is cancelled after a few minutes... I think
this is because theres no utility active any more, that "holds" the
connection, if I disable this service.

I can imagine this is a problem with broadcasting for available networks
or something, since this is periodically and only for a few seconds...
but it makes games unplayable :-(

And yes, I tried to just use the tool coming with my wlan adapter... but
this one does not even connect to my network, dont know why. So I would
like to try to get this working with the windows internal tool.

Is there any known workaround... maybe something with settings in the
registry or something?

Cheers,

Arne

I think that the delay every minute or so is caused by Windows XP's
Wireless Zero Configuration (WZC) service. The solution that I've
used is:

1. Un-check "Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings" in
the Wireless Networks tab of the connection properties.

2. Use the WLAN utility provided by the wireless card manufacturer to
connect.

But you say that the utility doesn't connect to your network. Try it
again after disabling WZC. Download and install the latest version
from the manufacturer.
