I dont know if the copy of XP in my PC is legal or not but I dont have a key
to get updates, etc.
So I just bought a legal copy of window xp professional with SP1 (June 2004)
to put on my PC. I was told that I can install XP from my new CD on top of my
XP on my PC without losing data, etc.. When I try to install it, it tells me
that the XP version in my PC is newer (i did a SP2 update once I think) and I
may lose some settings and files. I really want to install my new XP to
legalize my system but not sure what i could lose if I do or what do i need
to do if I install the legal version on top of the old one. Any advice would
be greatly appreciated. OG
