Illegal Copy Of Windows XP

My friend has an illegal copy of Windows XP and wants to make it legal. If
she goes to windows automatic updates will they prompt her to make her copy
legal and does it work. I know that she will have to pay a fee to make her
copy legal what does it cost for windows XP Pro or Home edition.....?

Will she automaticly lose all her programs that are already instaled on her
computer......

He answered that. "No reinstallation of Windows XP will be required". It
changes the key.

But one should always, always, have a full and complete backup of important
data, and have copies of the original media for all installed programs.

You're right Bub, it's not worth taking the chance. Never try to fix
something that's not broken.

My suggestion is too keep using it and not worry. Eventually you'd deceide
that you want a new computer with Vista already loaded.

Just remember to buy it from a reputable dealer and check you've got a valid
licience before you give him you're credit card.

Well I think she would of let it be until she paid for Norton Antivirus
online but then Norton was promting her to do automatic updates before
instalation would begin.
I told her maybe Microsoft and Norton are now working together to find
illegal copies. I told her always go to the store and buy the package that
way you have it in your hands with product key. Norton is so hard to get tech
suport if you need to uninstall and reinstall without a disc. We talked
about it and I said it was the best thing to do if you want your automatic
updates and your Norton you just paid for and help with problems from the
Microsoft community and not worry about anymore. To much stress! She agreed.
I will post the out come of this story to let everyone know how it all went
for her if she got all the right answeres and if it was all successful.

Once again thank you to all your help community! BRAVO I say!

have your friend visit: www.microsoft.com/genuine and click
on "Validate Windows". When validation fails, you'll see a button
to click on (Get Genuine) which will provide information on how
