Does anyone have any experience with LaCie external hard drives? Good,

Yeah. I don't have one myself, but I have used them (NAS). They are
particularly popular in graphics/architecture/advertising/printing etc...
basically professions that use Macs a lot, for some reason (at least here in
the UK). Seem to be good quality, but not particularly cheap.

I've never had anything but problems with them and won't use them. Right now
I've got a Western Digital MyBook (and I like these a lot) and a 500GB
drive I put in my own enclosure.

I've had problems with them overheating. I've also had problems with poor
support for firmware upgrades.
