labels with excel

How do I create labels from an excel spreadsheet? I've followed how to get
it to mail merge in windows but when i get to the select recipient dialog
box, that's it, it won't put the info into the labels created in word

thanks, I'm trying to go over this, since I've tried all that each link says
and it still doesn't seem to be working like it should

ACCESS is one application that is more powerful than either WORD or
EXCEL.
you can keep your data IN ONE PLACE and then create REPORTS that will
do whatever you need.

Excel and Word are awful choices for business tools.
