KVM recommendation

When I was using a CRT my Linksys KVM switch seemed fine...
but now that I've switched to a TFT monitor..when using the KVM...
the video appears *slightly* fuzzy.

I wonder if anyone has a KVM recommendation for one that works
without *any* fuzziness on a TFT monitor.

I made a decision today...that I wanted to replace my present KVM...
and ironically, when I turned my system on ...the KVM switch had failed
entirely ! (how do you like that?)

that's for sure!

if i can't get a 100% clear video signal with a KVM...
i will prob have to go with two monitors...
but then where will i put my scanner???

I've used a few KVMs with "TFT" monitors and have never had a problem. We
used to use Belkin then we switched to Compaq KVMs.

well
when i was looking at the specs for Belkin...
I stumbled across a TrippLite KVM (B022-002-KT-R)
that was more expensive but boasted about *superior* video quality.
I just may go for it as though it's more expensive is still under $50

Call TrippLite tech support first to see if it is compatible with your
system. Use that as an excuse to probe them for any problems.

You'll also want to make sure you're using high quality video cables.
A lot of the ghosting seen in LCD's is caused by inferior quality
cables. I generally use cables specifically made for KVM use (i.e.
the kind with keyboard/video/mouse in one cable) with an 8 port
MasterView and have had few problems.

the cables were the molded-in types

Not a bad idea...
but I had hoped to hear from actual users...as the factory my be biased in
favor of their own product.
But considering the TrippLite had about twice the video resolution
as the almost acceptable Linksys it should prob. be OK.
It's a gamble I suppose...but probably better than Las Vegas odds.

If it's not good enough...I can always use it in my workshop

Call some vendors and see what they say. For example, if Directron
sells it then call Juan in tech support and ask him. He will give you
the straight story.
