KT7-RAID Motherboard - Keyboard works in BIOS, not in WinXP -- Please help!

I'm trying to setup a spare computer using an old motherboard I have
(KT7-RAID) and I know the motherboard has problems, but this particular
problem I really need to get resolved...

The problem is that when I hookup a keyboard using the PS/2 port, it
works *fine* in BIOS, and it even lets me press 'F8' before Windows
boots, etc, but once Windows (XP) boots, the keyboard no longer works
what-so-ever. I've tried several keyboards so I know this isn't limited
to one particular keyboard. Another strange thing is that I can use a
boot disk (Win98) and the keyboard works fine, but if I launch the
WinXP setup the keyboard will lock up.

I've updated the BIOS to the very latest version but that didn't help
at all...

I'm very desperate to fix this problem... if anybody has any ideas for
me please let me know.

I've got no idea why it's happening. So here are some desperate measures you
might take if you really want to try to get this Abit board running. Try a
USB keyboard, and if not possible try installing '98 first and then try an
upgrade to XP.
Other things to try: Use bios defaults, and nuts as this may be, try a
different stick of RAM. It could just be that the address for the keyboard
on the RAM chip you're using has gone bad.

If it works in the BIOS and DOS, but not Windows then it sounds like
it's a Windows problem. Did you reinstall Windows or are you trying to
use an installation done with another board? If the latter then I would
guess that's your problem.
