Known dll's included in spyware scan from wrong provider

We have an application that adds a toolbar to IE. When I run the Spyware
scan, it comes up as a spyware threat from CoolWebSearch. Cleaning it, as
expected, removes the toolbar.

What steps can we take to ensure that our plug-ins do not get picked up as
spyware or, at the very least, get recognized as our company's plug-in and
not "CoolWebSearch"?

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,
Jeff

Sorry - here I thought I was doing a favor by giving out the higher level
link, and didn't test it.
I'll see what I can find out. That's a serious issue.

I've reported the issue to both support for Microsoft Antispyware and to the
Microsoft web site's support mechanisms, but the timing may not be optimal.

I think I'd advise you to use the other form--the vendor dispute form and
explain the reason you did so. I'm afraid I don't have any recollection of
what info is needed in the FP form--but the main thing you want to
accomplish is getting a case established and contact information--they can
then ask for the details needed.

Jeff - FWIW, they have fixed the link to the false positive form, so if this
isn't already in progress-that link is now available to the public
again--thanks for letting me know it was down.
