Known CD writing problem Q320174

I have the problem of burning CD's in WinXP that can not
be read by my PC running Win98. I can not however install
the Q320174 package because I've installed other bug
fixes or Service Packs. So what do I do now?

What happens when you try, where does the error occur, can you not open the
package or can you open it but you receive an error when you try to install;
what's the error; please describe the problem in more detail.

Have you tried redownloading as the package might have been corrupted in the
first download?

Byte, that's the KB article he originally referenced in his post. He's
having trouble with the patch linked to that article.
