Knowledge Base 307153 - no catroot2

R

Robert Gagnon

I had a problem during installation that closely follows
the symptons laid out in the Microsoft Knowledge Base
Artice 307153.

The only difference being that the file I got for 'main
entry point' was DC290CPL.CPL and not VIPERSTI.CPL as in
the article. Error=127 (7Fh) was identical.

The article suggest to delete Catroot2 from a command
prompt but when I got to that point, there was no
directory named Catroot2!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Double checked. still no catroot2. All I have under
c:\windows\system32\ is 'Adobe' and 'Drivers'.

Robert make sure you have in your folder options set to show hidden files
and folders.

You should have roughly 10 - 20 folders in this dir.
