kmode exception not handled

J

Jeff Gardner

While installing W2K on a fresh NTFS partition, while
copying the files from the CD, I keep getting a kmode
exception not handled error with a reference to
ntoskrnl.exe.

Anyone have ideas about what is amiss?

Thanks!

Hi Jeff,

This STOP 0x0000001e could be caused by a number of things. Some things you
can check are:
Disconnect ALL non-essential devices such as scanners, etc...
Try another video card.
Upgrade the system ROM BIOS.
During setup do not bypass the disk check
Replace essential hardware one at a time
Replace RAM

If we cannot install to a clean partition, then we have to start looking at
hardware.

Ken Simmons
