HI,

I am not computer literate. I don't know why when I plug in my KINGSTON 1GB
USB DRIVE to my laptop with Window Vista; the drive is displayed in Window
Explorer but I cannot access my files. When I click on the drive, the system
freezes on me.

Can anyone help me please?

Thanks!

The very first time you plugged in the drive did you perhaps allow Vista to
use it as a Readyboost drive? It should have asked you that the very first
time you plugged it in. Or has it been like this from the very beginning? I
have two Kingston Thumb drives and have no such issues.

Hi

Tra a different usb port in the same pc. I had this problem too.
My kingston 2gb thumbdrive would never be recognised in the USB ports on the
front side. Tried putting it on the back side n it works finr.

Cheers!!

Why don't you look at the drive in Drive Management and see if you have any
information there that might be a clue. How is it formatted, FAT, FAT32, or
NTFS.
Do you get any options when you right click or does it freeze. When you say
freeze, what do you mean i.e. you have to turn off the computer with the on
button, your mouse freezes but other things continue, you just need to
unplug the usb drive and it works again.
