Kicked off when opening a page with pop up adds

About 2 weeks ago, I started getting kicked off the web
when I went to a page that has pop-up ads. I can go to
sites without pop-up adds, no problem. I have no idea why
this just started. It took some time to figure out that
it was only sites without popup adds. I will get an error
message, get kicked off and then lose all my icons and
task bar and have to reboot the computer. Does anyone
have any idea why this may be happening?

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling IE 6.0. I've
tried uninstalling and reinstalling Windows 98. I tried
Earthlink's tech support. They tried a bunch of things
but nothing worked. It also does this even if I don't
have Earthlink open. I connect via a cable modem. Any
help would be greatly appreciated.

Check if you have a popup blocker interfering with the access. Hold the
CTRL key down as you enter the site. CTRL key disables many popup blocker.
