Are you using a laptop computer with the NumLock on? If so, and
you don't want the numbers, simply turn the NumLock off. And, while
you're at it, please unstick your CapsLock key. Posting in all caps, as
you have done, is the Usenet equivalent of shouting, and is considered
very rude by a large number of people. More importantly, posting in all
caps makes the post harder to read, further reducing your chances of
getting help; a great many people won't even try to read such a message.
If you really want help, simply comply with the dictates of common
courtesy and the conventions of the milieu.

Bruce, your advice may be appropriate but is it that difficult to read
12 words posted all in caps. Poster already states he's having trouble
with lower case entries getting mixed up with numbers.

Generally speaking I agree with not using all caps, although back in my
Army days when I was using RTT(that's Radio TeleType) there was no choice!

It's not too troublesome to read a short post that's in all caps, which
is why the OP got a reply from me. I (and many others) won't even try
to decipher long paragraphs of all caps; so such a poster loses a large
portion of his potential support base. I advised the OP about the
undesirablity of using all caps to discourage him from developing bad
habits. You notice that I provided a possible solution first, and then
the "friendly advice?"

Then you know how hard reading long passages of all caps can be. (And
the Air Force was/is the same way, on some messaging systems. You'd
think they'd learn.)
