Keyboard

This problem is very freaky; I have never encountered this before.
As I am typing along, all of a sudden my cursor changes positions, usually
upward. Wherever it has decided to land itself, it begins typing from that
point. The message beomces garbled and undecipherable.
I looked at the sticky keys and they seem to be turned off. I also went
hunting in the keyboard settings, but I'm not sure what I am looking for.
I have a laptop...the touch pad is off...shouldn't be a problem there.
I might also add that the computer has just been worked on recently.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I don't know how this site works, but hopefully someone will know how to
help. I just want to be able to get through a pot or a mail without this
happening. (It has happened once here already.)
Thank you in advance...

Two common causes of phantom typing and mousing:

1. Voice recognition has been turned on without your knowledge. The
computer is hearing room noises and interpreting them as speech.

2. A wireless mouse or keyboard attached to the computer is receiving
interference from another device.

OK....tping along and I just lost the whole letter...Grrrrrrrrrr...I do ot
have a wireless mouse or keyboard, and I did not find a Speech Recognition
tab in the speech section of the control panel. Is there a chance that this
has something to do with the touchpad...I lay my hands over it when I type,
but it is turned off...at the least the light is not lit..
Thank you for your time...I will be patient.

:

Yes it could be the touch pad. Don't rest on it.
