keyboard stops working during Windows session

For some reason, either when I type really fast during a
chat session, or for some other reason, my system gets to
a point where although I may press or type the keys on
the keyboard, nothing shows on the screen. My mouse
would still work, and I would be able to navigate the
screen somewhat by pressing the Tab button and Enter
button on the keyboard. But the letter keys would have
become disabled. Restarting the PC will solve the
problem. What could be causing the keyboard keys to
become disabled during a session? I am using Win XP Pro.

Thank you!

Hi,

Background interference, the keyboard is losing priority to some other
process. Usually, when the other process completes, the stored keyboard
strokes will be completed. However, if the background interference is too
great, it may not. Best thing to do here is to eliminate potential problems,
