I have a problem that has only recently appeared when I select a field or a
record in a table or query. My keyboard is acting as if I am holding down
Shift- when I select, or highlight (i.e., it is selecting contiguous)
fields/rows/records.
For example, if I select the 5th record row (or a field within that row),
and then want to "let go" of that selection and select, a completely separate
record / row, the highlighted selection includes all contiguous records /
rows from the first record / row that I selected - just as if I'm holding
down the shift key in making the new selection.
This behavior is NOT present in Excel or Word. My keyboard seems to work
fine (not sticking in any way). The only new program I've installed in the
last few days is SKYPE (VoIP). Before I uninstall that and retry, perhaps
someone has seen this before? I've checked all my key settings - cap lock,
insert, etc - none of which are currently set. There is nothing in Access
option settings that looks (to me) like it could be causing this. The only
other factor that I can think of is that I am using a recently converted
Access 97 database. However the same database was working fine last week.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
