keyboard problems

this problem started a few weeks ago and only occurs when i try to create an
email. the probelm is that what gets written does not correspond in any way
with the keystrokes. i have checked to see if it corresponds with any other
keyboard, but it does not. the strange thing is that the keyboard works
correctly if for example i tpye into the search field. in addition i use my
computer remotely and the keystrokes are correct when i type an email
remotely using outlook. has anyone experienced the same problem.
 
It would help if you gave a little bit more details, e.g.
- your Outlook version
- message type (plain text, HTML)
- font used (if HTML)
- what input keys give what incorrect output?

Also, what are the keyboard settings in Regional and Language Settings?
