keyboard problem

my keyboard is not working. I have tried using another keyboard but that does
not work . It has been suggested the keyboard port might be damaged. I have
bought a usb adaptor and fixed the keybord to that and plugged it in to a
usb port but the computer does not register the keyboard.
Any ideas?

If the keyboard wasn't made to work with a USB adapter, it may not work. You
would have been better off buying a USB keyboard.

Have you looked in the Device Manager to see if there are any problems
listed?
