Hi, some users have got a strange problem. Sometimes Windows XP Pro
gets into a "shift-lock-mode". That makes Windows acts like the shift-
key is pressed. The only way to get out of that, is to press CTRL
+Shift in a few seconds.
What is it ? Is there any way to prevent that problem !?

Thanks

Like Accessibility there is a trick here with general applicability.
Normally Caps Lock is on or off and stays on or off until the key is pressed
again. This can be changed to act like a typewriter at Start - Control
Panel - Regional And Language Options - Languages - Details - Key Settings
and one can select whether another Caps Lock press will turn off Caps Lock
or if pressing the Shift key will turn it off like on a typewriter.

Run Language Dialog then click Key Settings button.

Key Setting button
[[Click to define the key combinations you use to switch between multiple
input languages or between multiple keyboard layouts. You can also determine
which key you use to turn CAPS LOCK off.]]

The Key Settings button may be disabled unless more than one keyboard
definition is installed.

If the Key Settings button is grayed, click Add and add another keyboard
definition, for example, United States–International. Select the keyboard
you normally use, click Key Settings, and make the configuration change as
described above.

0x10000 SHIFT key

Change method
To change the value of this entry, double-click Keyboard in Control Panel.
Click the Input Locales tab, and then select an option in the To turn off

Note
Windows 2000 does not add this entry to the registry. You can add it by
editing the registry or by using a program that edits the registry.

Windows XP does not add this entry to the registry either.

I am sorry, thats not the problem. I think CAPS-LOCK never has been
used for some kind of marking text. Further more, keymapping of
turning CAPS-LOCK on and off, is not solving the problem.

But thanks any way.
