keyboard error

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be
corrupted or missing. (Code 39) it doesthis everytime i plug in my keyboard
even when i bought a new one yellow exclamation mark and says this

Since you tried a different keyboard presumably you are plugging the
keyboard into the PS/2 port, which may be damaged. Try a usb keyboard
instead and see if that works.

i did use a usb keyboard didnt work

Then delete the keyboards from Device Manager and reboot with one of
them connected to the machine. Use a generic type keyboard so no
special drivers are required.

Other than that, I don't have enough information to give you more
focused help.

The First Question Of Troubleshooting: what changed between the time
things worked and the time they didn't?
