Keyboard disables during XP install

Help! I put together my own system and installed everything just fine the
first go around. I now want to reformat and start again from scratch. The
problem is that now when I boot up from the Windows XP CD it brings up the
blue screen and loads the necessary drivers. When it gets to the point it
says loading Windows my keyboard disables! I've tried plugging in an old PS2
keyboard into the PS2 slot, but nothing works! Appreciate any help.

Update. The keyboard seems to work in the setup screen when I disconnect the
SATA drive from my computer. Of course this won't help me when this is where
I want to re-install the OS! Any ideas how to resolve?

Hi
Had a similar problem. When I turned off the computer, brutal; then
connected the PS2 mouse and keyboard and then restarted the
installation, didn't have the choice mind you. Then the PS mouse
worked.
