Keyboard Configuation

Can anyone tell me how to reconfigure my keyboard? The symbols are all
messed up and do not match i.e. when I try to type a pound sign I get the
hash symbol?

You are either using a US keyboard with a UK keyboard layout or a UK
keyboard with a US keyboard layout

Change the keyboard layout in Control Panel | Regional and Language
Options
| Languages | Details | Settings.
 
Thanks for the reply but I already did that. It was set on English US so
changed it to English UK but no change...is there anything else it could be?
