Keyboard Abnormalities

To get the @ sign it is shift and 2 and " sign is shift
and ' (basically they are opposites). Also I do not have
a pound sign, shift and 3 gives me #, but the # key
produces \. This key in turn produces \. I have checked
my regional settings and also my keyboard settings and
they seem to be normal Any Help would be much appreciated.

I have never seen a # key on any keyboard I've ever seen. To get # it's
shift and 3.

The \ key should produce \.

I don't see any problems here.

Scott;

You're set up with the English (US) you may want
English (United Kingdom) to get the £ symbol.

To open Regional and Language Options, click Start, point to Settings, click
Control Panel, and then double-click Regional and Language Options.

Languages tab | Details button | Installed services |
Add button | input language: English (United Kingdom) |
Keyboard layout: United Kingdom | OK | Apply | OK | Apply | OK

Ya, that's right. I missed that. I forget pound is a different symbol here
in the states than in the uk. Good call, could be what he wanted.

This is standard for USA keybaords. You apparently want a UK
keyboard layout.

Go to Control Panel | Regional and Language Options. On the
Languages tab, click Details, then Add and use the UK keyboard
layout.

Phil;

Anytime they say they have to Shift the 2 key to get the @ symbol
it means they have the US keyboard layout and they want the UK layout.

Thanks for the heads up.
