Windows XP Kernel 32 error

My friend gets a kernel 32 fatal exception error and/or general protection fault caused by user.exe when opening Microsoft Word 2000.

After resetting the computer it does not happen again. For another while. Any ideas?

OS Windows 98.

... it all boils down to memory, and has 98 got enough?

It could be memory-related...are u sure it's every time u strat word?

You might try downloading and running the following program

http://www.spywareinfo.com/files/startuplist.zip

and copying the results in this thread...maybe that can tell us something more.
