Keeping user-inputted data with pivot table contents

I have a worksheet that contains a pivot table and data that users
input on each row based on the value of a cell on the pivot table.
How can this data keyed by the user be kept on the same row as the
cell it is being referenced to when the pivot table is refreshed?

For example, the pivot table contains:

Col1(name) Col(OrderAmt) User-Inputted Data on Col 3 (outside of
pivot table)
Company A $100 Company on Prohibited Payment List
Company B $50 Shipped 12/1/2003
$60 Company rep quit
Company C $800 company visit pending

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You can't connect data typed outside the pivot table to items within the
pivot table. If rows are added to the pivot table, or fields are
pivoted, the data outside won't move.

You could copy the company names and order amounts to another sheet, and
enter the column 3 data there.

Just as I thought. I was hoping that there might be some neat tricks
somewhere that someone had done.

Thank you very much.
