Keeping User Account settings after migrating computer account to new domain

I am migrating my desktop and my user from an NT (LANSA_NT) to a AD
(lansa.na) Domain. When I sign on as (e-mail address removed), I get a new user
account on my desktop. How can I make my new user use the old "My
Documents", etc. from the LANSA_NT\davidn user account?

Hi

You can reuse the old profile with the "new" user by changing the new
user's ProfileImagePath in registry to point to the old profile.

Same problem moving users to new domain. This fix works
only if domain users are in local admin group. My domain
users are in Power Users group. I change permissions on
profile path for user, change ProfileImagePath setting and
still have problems. How can I change domains and keep my
users in Power Users group?
