keeping time

Can anyone help?? I have only been on XP or about 10 days. 2 days ago my PC
stopped keeping time. Now the clock only keeps time when PC is powered up.
When I switch off the time stays at that particular time, then when I re
start the next day the clock keeps running at yesterdays time.
Any Thoughts?

Yeah - fix your hardware - you have a bad CMOS battery.

Check if the battery is seated correctly on the motherboard and if so
replace the battery on the motherboard. This battery keeps the time current
when Computer is powered down.

You need to replace your motherboard battery. In most cases, this is a
small, standard coin type battery that costs around $3.00usd.

The battery on the motherboard that keeps the reserve clock running when
the system is powered off has failed on you - replace
