Keeping the file tree open

every time i want the file tree open i have to go into view and open it in a
new folder, is there a way to make it open when you open any folder?
 
Edit the shortcut's "Target" to read;

%systemroot%\explorer.exe /e,C:\

(the /e switch is what provides the functionality.)
