I everytime delete my cookies. sometimes for cleaning, sometimes for
clearing. deleting all cookies is easy and i think its the only way for
"cooky-handling".
however, rather, i want to keep some of my cookies undeleted. ones like
which needed for autologins. so i want to assign some of my cookies as
"accredited". but its hard to do it in a pure "copy - paste -
everytime" way.
is there anyone who knows how to do that?
If you are using IE then there are several options:
(If you are using other browsers then the instructions are different)
I leave a shortcut on the desktop
C:\Documents and Settings\Don Taylor\Cookies
open that, select the offending items, and delete them.
I have a similar shortcut on the desktop
C:\Documents and Settings\Don Taylor\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
that I use to manually clean up cached web pages.
Some have claimed that caution is needed when doing
this but I've done that for years with no ill effects.
(You will notice in there that there are "copies" of
your cookies, but I believe those are just links to
the real cookies and are optional to delete)
Cookie Wall is a small free seemingly stable and reliable
little program that you can configure with three cagegories,
Cookies to Delete automatically
Cookies to Keep
New cookies.
A couple of mouse clicks will let you purge all the new
cookies, and that won't include the ones you have added
to your "keep" list.
It is also possible to add entries to your
C:\Windows\System32\DRIVERS\ETC\hosts
file that will block not only cookies but popups, banner
adds, all sorts of crap from net scum out there.
Search for things like
hosts block ads
or similar keywords to learn a bit about how to do that.
But by completely blocking cookies some places will refuse
to even let you see their web pages.
I hope one of these helps
