Keeping alive modem connection

I have connect two computers via ISDN modem.
How can I do script (or something else) to monitoring connection and
reinicialize it when connection is dropped.

I don't know of any applets but there should be a few out there. But I like
direct control of my stuff so I'd have to recommend writing a script (choose
your favorite language) and set up a scheduled task to kick it off
periodically.

Sorry this isn't more specific, but it's really dependant on the specific
hardware and scripting language you choose.
