Keep table with next

G

GavinS

I have a table with a style applied.
I would like to specify a "space before" the table format. How do I do
this?

Also if I already have the Table Propoerties | Rows | allow row to
break across pages unticked and it still breaks what is the problem?

Thanks

Word table styles do not allow you to specify spacing before a table. They
do allow you to apply spacing to the header row, but that spacing will be
added *within* cells, which is probably not what you want.

What you can do is specify some Spacing After to the text paragraph
preceding the table. Alternatively, you can insert an extra row with the
desired height (and hide its borders, of course).

That option won't prevent the table from splitting, if that's what you are
asking (but it should prevent the table from splitting in the middle of a
row). For ways to keep the table on a single page, see
http://word.mvps.org/faqs/tblsfldsfms/keeptableon1page.htm.
