Keep losing sound

I keep losing my sound. I've tried unnistalling and reinstalling the sound
card driver, and it works for awhile, but then it always takes a dump again
after I've listened to a few things. Anybody know what the problem could be,
or how I can fix it?

What is the make and model of the sound card you're using, or is it onboard
sound built into the PC's motherboard?

How old is the PC?

Perhaps the sound card or chip is on the way out.

Maybe opening the case and removing the card and reinstalling it might help.

Try entering dxdiag in the Start => Run box and use the sound tests.
