keep losing internet connection.

sometime i can't view any web pages and after pressing repair under network
connection once or twice, i can see web pages and at random time i lose it
again and have to press repair.

cables are ok and this the other computer which is running Windows Me has no
problem

Windows problem or ISP problem?

What type of connection? Are you sharing the connection? What's the setup?
Firewalls/routers involved?

some times you have to reboot your modem if your on cable
Just unplug the powerlead for a couple of seconds then
connect it up again .If you are using Kazaa this can heat
up your modem and cause it to disconnect sometimes.

2 computers and a cable modem connected to a linksys befsr41.

Cable modem SB4100
Comp1 Windows ME static IP
Comp2 Windows XP SP1 Static IP

IP are correct and have been for many years

I suspect it the new onboard network drivers since the other computer has no
problem viewing the same web pages at the time when the problem occur.

kazaa is not running at any time not auto start up too.
like i said before, at the same time the other computer connected to the
same network has no problem viewing the same web pages at the same time.

CAT 5 cables has no collision. I think i narrow the problem to the computer
which has XP SP1 and the new abit NF7-S v2.0

I go try reinstall network drivers

To try to troubleshoot first take the router out of the equation. Hook the
cable modem directly into the xp box, enable the xp box firewall first and
see if the connection stays active. If it does you can look to the router
and network card drivers combination, maybe see if it has a firmware upgrade
for the router. If the connection still drops it could be the network card
drivers. Could be the tcp/ip stack too. Maybe this info will help you:
