Keep losing browser

My browser drops out and I can't work out why. At first I thought it was
just happening with firefox so I started using ie6 which was ok for a while
but the same thing started happening. I run virus checks but they reveal
nothing. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

A bad Winsock2 can cause that. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811259

I had that happen a few times. I deleted Winsock2 in the registry and
rebooted. Problem solved. It rebuilds itself, but don't take my word for it.
I don't know what OS you're using.
