Can anyone help, this is driving me mad!!!

I have a brand spanking new DELL desktop, running XP pro SP2, and at no
given time, the PC looses the connection to the network, files im trying to
save to the network hang on saving, and i dont get any internet access at all
through the network's internet connection.

This lasts for about 1 minute, sometimes a little less. When it happens i
can run ipconfig and all the settings are correct, so it hasnt lost the DHCP
settings, besides i have tried using a static IP aswell and it still happens!
But i cant ping anything!

I have tried this DELL PC in another network port and a different patch
cable and it still happens. I put my old computer back on the same
connection, which is also running XP pro SP2 and it works perfectly.

Whats going on?????!!! - Oh and also DELL has been in and changed the
motherboard for a new one!!!

Thanks.

Many things could cause this. A couple are:

Flakey driver, do you have the latest driver for the NIC installed? Do not
use any drivers from Windows update. Get the latest driver from Dell or the
NIC manufacturer.

Malware/spyware/virus, Scan for spyware. Many spyware programs can cause
intermittent network problems. See the following links
