Keep Being Asked To Reactivate

M

Mike Hancock

I recently had to reformat my drive and re install and activate Vista. After
re-installing I also updated my motherboards bios and drivers.

Last week i got a message indicating that i needed to Activate again even
though i had already re-activated via phone. I did so successfully, except
that i got the same message again today. I went ahead an activated once
again, but have no idea why i was asked to do it again, or if i will have to
do this again in a few days.

One of the techs that i work wtih at the shop that built my computer says
that he has recently seen this problem on 4 other machines he has worked on.

Has anyone else experienced this, and if so is there a resolution to this
problem?

Thanks for you comments ahead of time.

Regards,
Mike..

How did you reinstall Vista? Did you install it
properly with the product key for the edition
you installed? Did you type in the product
key during Vista's initial setup phase?

Please follow this troubleshooting procedure:

1. Download and run the MGA Diagnostic Tool: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012

2. After running the MGA Diagnostic Tool, click on the "Windows" tab and then click on "Copy".

3. Next, visit the following website and create a post in the "WGA Validation Problems" forum
and paste the results of the WGA Diagnostic Data in a detailed post.
http://forums.microsoft.com/Genuine/default.aspx?SiteID=25

4. A Windows troubleshooting specialist will analyze the data and recommend an appropriate solution.
