KB923028

I'm trying to install the HotFix recommended from this KB at:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923028

For the X86 platform on XP Pro which has VB6, VS2003, VS2005, and VS2008.

When I run the exe to install I get this message:

"The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the windows Installer service
because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may
update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be
upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch."

I believe that since you have VS 2008, you have patched .Net 2.0 to the
fullest and have already got the patch which is inclusive of the KB article
hotfix.

According to the article at:

http://support.microsoft.com/Default.aspx?kbid=923028

My Microsoft.jscript.dll file version should be 8.0.50727.794
Mine in C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727
is 8.0.50727.1433

My System.dll file version should be 2.0.50727.794
Mine in C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727
is 2.0.50727.1433

Now they list both of those files twice, I'm not sure what that is all
about, but both are eariler versions then what I have.

So I don't believe I have the latest versions.

1433 is larger (and therefore later) than 794.

Why would you think you don't have the latest versions?
