kazaa

I downloaded kazaa but it had so much junk with it that I deleted it. Now I think there are some files that are still in my computer from this download. How can I get rid of all these without causing any other problems. Can some of these files
be intertwined with other important programs that if I do try to get rid of will cause problems. I deleted some of the programs I thought were inserted from the kazaa in program files and this caused

"csrss.exe error - Unable to locate component. This application has failed to start because winsrw was not found. Reinstalling may fix this problem."

when I tried logging in to other user accounts in the household (on this computer). Mine was the only one that would login.

I used system restore and everyone was able to login as normal again and everything seems ok but some of the files are in the program files again.

How do I find all the files I do not want and how do I know which ones are safe to delete? Can some programs embedd info in windows programs or take part of vital programs from your windows or your computer so if you delete what you think is junk that it might cause a problem? How can you have better control over this
Thanks

I believe I have a copy of the "Brilliant Digital Killer" SW that I D/Led ages
ago when I thought I might look at Kazaa for S&Gs. I never needed to use it,
but if you think it will help, send me a legit email addy and I'll shoot it
over to you. It's only about 50KB.

Cheers,

You did not unistall it from the controll panel?

Kazza comes with "spyware". After removal from controlpanel, install Spyware Search And Destroy ( S & D from http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=mirrors ) for instance, and remove remnants.
Can some of these files be intertwined with other important programs that if I do try to get rid of will cause problems.

If you just delete the programfolder, and the register has keys pióinting to programs that should be autostarting, you get problems...
I deleted some of the programs I thought were inserted from the kazaa in program files and this caused
"csrss.exe error - Unable to locate component.

If yout have problems still after cleaning with S&D, and reinstaling sp1, you may have to manually edit the register.

Try this:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/kazaabegone.zip
save it, scan it for viruses, then double click it, and double the .exe
file. Worked for me. good luck.

I've had the same problem with Kazaa junk. I thought I had uninstalled /
deleted all the add-ons (I'm no expert, and didn't go into the registry) but
on your suggestion I have just run KazaaBegone.exe and I'm amazed how much
it found and cleared out. Thanks for the help.
