kaanza's web page loads slowly in IE as compare to Firefox

Can anyone tell me :
1) why kaanza.com homepage loads faster in firefox as compared with IE6?
2) Is there something wrong in html ?
3) Is there something wrong in image optimization?
4) how can we optimize this home page to appear faster in IE6?

Rahman,

It really depends on many factors as you've already mentioned. As far
as browsers are concerned, yes, there is a considerable difference in
rendering HTML by IE and Firefox because they use different Layout
Engines and techniques. Firefox uses the one used by Netscape, i.e.
Gecko and IE uses Trident. So, both browsers render page at a
different pace.

Secondly, wrong HTML can also effect the rendering speed, but here
what is meant by 'wrong html'?

Definitely, image optimization is mandatory when you're over the web.
The choice for .jpgs and .gifs are likely to be made as per the
content and there can be a separate discussion on this topic .
