Asus says on their drivers cd that you will have to download drivers
after you have installed XP-SP1, but the dir they mention does not
exist, I looked with sara and no USB2 only USB1, how can I solve it ?

I'm running a XP on a K8N-E and have had no trouble using
USB 2.0 under SP1 or SP2 and I never had to download
drivers. After you have installed SP1 go into device manager
and right click on the USB controller choose update driver
and let windows automaticly search for a driver. If that
doesn't work, choose uninstall instead and then reboot and
let windows search for a driver.

Can you tell me what version your driver is and witch date ?
After uninstalling I now got an extra device called Standard Enhanced
PCI to USB-hostcontroller and an extra hub ?
Sisoft sandra still says I got 2 times 4 USB1 ports en now one 8 ports
usb2??

But I cant seem to plug annything into the usb2 port only the usb1
ports, could be that the program from sisoft sandra is not working
correctly ?

Driver for Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host controller is
5.1.2600.0 Driver date of 6/1/2002 this is the USB 2.0 driver
Standard OpenHCD Host controller (have two of these) is
5.1.2600.2180 driver date of 7/1/2001

What error do you get when you plug in a USB 2.0 device?
Sisoft Sandra reports my USB devices correctly, I'm using
version 2004.8.9.131

One other there is a setting in the BIOS to set USB 2.0 to
Full speed (12MHZ) or High speed (480MHZ) on mine
it was set at Full speed.

I got that one and it has 8 ports
Standard OpenHCD Host controller (have two of these) is
5.1.2600.2180 driver date of 7/1/2001

I got those two too but the driver is different 5.1.2600.1106 (same
date) and they have 4 ports each.

And I got 3USB mainhubs and one support for USB printing (Deskjet930)
What error do you get when you plug in a USB 2.0 device?
Sisoft Sandra reports my USB devices correctly, I'm using
version 2004.8.9.131

I got sandra 2004.10.9.133
It doesn't matter what I putt into the usb ports, Kodak DX6340 camera
or my HP930c printer, they always are connected thru a Standard openHCD
Host controller at full speed(12), the printer is probebly usb1.1 so
mabye that should not be seen on the USB2 controller, but the camera
should be USB2.0 and that should show up as a connection on the
Enhanced PCI to USB controller, or am I missing something ?

Looked in the bios settings and it is on High speed.

When you plug in your camera do you get an error something like
"you have plugged a high speed device in a slow speed port"?
What do you see when you view devices by connection in
device manager? Click the + sign by ACPI Uniprocessor PC
keep clicking on + signs until you see you usb ports, that will
tell you what ports your devices are connected too.

No I don't get an error.
When I look it up it says that the camera is connected to the (second)
standard OpenHCD Host-controller.

I don't know what else to try. Are you sure your camera is USB 2.0?
Could be a problem with the drivers. Did you have the camera connected
and drivers loaded before enabling USB 2.0? You might try uninstalling
the camera, rebooting and reinstalling it.

I'm not 100% sure the camera is USB2.0, it's only a few months old so
it should be 2.0, and if it is not should the camera show up on one of
the two standard controller or at the Enhanced controller (i don't have
another usb2.0 device to see what happens).

I will trie to reinstall it because the software is indeed installed
before I installed the Service pack1

USB 2.0 Devices will be attached to the Enhanced controller.
Just because the camera is two months old doesn't mean its
a USB 2.0 device. I bet if the docs don't say if its 1.1 or 2.0
then it's probably a 1.1 device.

I will trie to reinstall the software, and trie to get hold of another
usb2 device to be sure if it's working properly.
