JVC MOD-files

Hello, I have a problem. I have a new JVC and its generating MOD-files.
Unfortunately Windows Movie Maker can't import that file-type. Does someone
know what I can do best. Just rename the MOD-extension to MPG does not help.
Windows Movie Maker gives the following error (translated fron dutch): " ...
An interface has to too many methods start events" . Anyone who knows a
program that can help me?

check my website's Import Movie Source Files > Video > MOD page

MOD files are MPEG2... if Movie Maker can't use them, then conversion to AVI
or WMV files is the path to take.
