"Justify" doesn't seem to be working for me on Word 2003

Hi everyone, thanx for your help in advance! I am trying to fully justify a
paragraph in a normal passage, nothing fancy, but it doesn't seem to do
anything at all when I press the "justify" button in my toolbar or whether I
go through Format>Paragraph>Allignment>Justified
It continues to look like it's left justified.... right and center justified
is working fine, but I have no clue why this isn't working! Any ideas?

Display nonprinting characters (using Ctrl+* or the Show/Hide ¶ button) and
see if you have a paragraph or line break at the end of every line (often
the case with text pasted from emails or the Web). If so, see

Format, Font, Character Spacing Tab: you'll find the Spacing setting
particularly useful for this. However, you may find that if you are fully
Justifying your text, it may conflict with your Character Spacing. Word will
try to stretch or shrink spacing to fit words exactly into a line length so
you may need to do some experimenting to get the desired result.

How can I read about that in Help? I tried searching "Distribute
Text", and I tried searching "CTRL-SHIFT-J", and in both cases got
a long loist of topics that didn't seem partiocularly rlevant.

<rant>
I really am growing to hate the new "help" in Word 2003. Everything
seems to be nested in callouts, so I can't read a help topic
without constantly moving my mouse to click to expand some
subtopic, then back to the scroll bar, then back to click to
expand, again and again. Also, fairly often there's no way (that I
can find) to get back to the index without closing the entire help
apparatus and starting over.

Nobody likes the current version of Help. We're told it will be improved in
Word 12. As for "Distribute Text," I think it is probably undocumented.
