Just A Question - Has something sneeked on my system

S

SomOne

Am running Win Xp Pro through a wire Router.

Have got Norton System Works 2003, Norton Internet Security 2003 on the
machine.

My Clean Sweep (Nothing wants to run) and Norton Protected Recycle Bin has
been acting real strange. Have not added any software.

My concern is poss that something has got to my system and in effect,
negated my Norton's.

Is there anything that I could download, burn to a CD, and run from the CD
that can check my system. Just so I do not have to install anything until I
find out some idea as to problem. Or is there site I can hit to get my
system scanned.

It isn't that I am beating a drum for Symantec, it is just that the grief
you have to go through to strip that off the system is an adventure that I
would prefer to avoid until next rebuild

Appreciate any help
