junk mail

I have outlook 2002. Recently when I check my junk
folder to vfy that the correct things are being weeded
out, the emails are being opened. How can I get that to
stop.
 
Do you have the Preview Pane enabled on your Junk Mail folder?

I would disable the preview pane -- then the message contents should not
appear if you just single click on a message in the list, and then you
should be able to delete the message without seeing its contents.
