Junk email filter stopped working

Gordon

Ever since the Microsoft update installed this morning, the junk email filter
stopped working. How do I get it to work again?

G

Gordon

Yes, I rebooted. I am using XP-home and Outlook.

Uninstall the most recent Junk E-mail filter update and see if that fixes
it. If it does, try reinstalling the update.

I acutally ran a detect and repair and it seems to be working again, although
I did just receive a Viagra email, but maybe that one was truely meant for me
;)... If it happens again I will try your suggestion.
Thanks

Brian - I uninstalled the most recent Junk E-mail filter update and the Junk
Mail filter seems to be working again (three junk emails captured so far).
I'm reluctant to install any update for fear it will stop working again.

Thanks for your help!

Do you have MS Expression Web 2 installed? My junk email folder stopped
working recently and I didn't realize it until now - about the same time I
installed the Expression Web 2 trial. I linked the 2 together when I
searched for OUTFLTR.DAT and .DLL and found those files also in the
Expression directory (older versions)! I deleted them from the Expression
directory and the junk email worked again in Outlook, but then when I went to
launch the Expression program Windows Installer popped up and reinstalled
them!!!!!!

Laura -

Yes, I have Expression Web installed (registered version). I haven't used
it in over a year and continue to use FrontPage instead. The Junk Mail
filter continues to work after the uninstall mentioned earlier.
